Durian in Desserts, Gifts and Celebrations

Durian is native to Southeast Asia and is eaten fresh as well as used in cakes, pastries, ice cream and other desserts. At our Hoppers Crossing bakery, we use D24 in cakes, crepes and selected rolls for Melbourne birthdays, gifts and shared gatherings.

From fruit to dessert

Durian flesh has a creamy texture and a strong aroma, which makes it suitable for fillings and creams. Sponge, wrappers and supporting flavours change the texture and balance of the finished dessert.

For a durian lover

A durian cake or dessert works best when the recipient already enjoys the flavour. Let them know what the gift contains before the handover, especially when it will be shared with a group.

Our Melbourne range

We focus on D24. Whole cakes suit birthdays and shared celebrations, crepes come in individual portions, and a Swiss roll can be sliced for tea or gifting when the durian flavour is selected at ordering.
